Clare Cheetham, Withdean resident, must have been overjoyed when someone blocked her drive on a Brighton and Hove Albion match day (Opinion, October 19), as it gave her an excuse to call the police and write to the Argus about it. How long has she waited for such an opportunity to release her frustrations about football being played in her private domain?

It was unfortunate her drive was blocked, but the driver blamed was actually a pensioner who once played for the Albion and probably did more for the Brighton and Hove community in his time than Clare would ever consider doing.

Is it conceivable she really didn't realise the culprit was not a player, considering his obvious age?
