In the light of the Hatfield rail disaster, Tory spokesman on transport Patrick Jenkin said certain aspects of rail privatisation might have been, in hindsight, a mistake.
It's a tragedy people had to die in order for them to realise this. Rail privatisation would now cost many billions to reverse. Tory profiteering in the Nineties has denied us the safe and popular public transport system we need in the 21st
century.
