Getting into and around Brighton and Hove each day can be just as annoying, slow and tedious as the rush-hour train trip to London.
So councillors are being asked to recommend an extra £1.38 million to improve transport through traffic calming, pedestrian and cycling facilities.
Better information for bus users is also planned.
Councillors must know the town desperately needs to bring its infrastructure into line.
It's the new age of the train, we are told.
But let's spend some money to ease the rigmarole of all the workers who stay and make Brighton and Hove a vibrant economy by the sea.
