My daughter went to Goldstone Junior School and is now in Year Seven at Blatchington Mill School. However, many of her Hangleton friends who also went to Goldstone did not get a place at Blatchington.
I am very sad for these Hove children. Twenty years ago they would have got in but now it seems Brighton schoolchildren take many of the places at Blatchington Mill. I am not anti-Brighton but I do feel Hove children should get into Hove schools.
Next month, many Hangleton Year Six children from the Goldstone, West Blatchington and Hangleton junior schools will go to the open evening at Blatchington Mill. They may prefer it to Hove Park but will not get in unless they have a sibling already there. It's wrong.
Hove parents be warned. We are being treated as inferior to Brighton parents. Our children should be able to go to Hove schools of their choice. Equal rights for Hove children.
