In response to a recent anonymous correspondent, the reason I attend as many community association meetings as possible but not panels and forums in Kemp Town and Whitehawk, is that the council protocol is to only invite ward councillors to these meetings. I have protested in the past about being prevented from attending meetings in wards because I am not the local councillor.
If anyone would like me to attend any community group meeting anywhere in the Kemp Town constituency I would appreciate an invitation.

Times haven't changed much, it appears. In 1879, when the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway was responsible for our local trains, the Forest Hill, Sydenham and Penge Gazette commented: "It would be difficult to find dirtier and more disgraceful carriages than are found in some of the Brighton company's trains."
