Albion boss Micky Adams has warned his high-flying side to expect a "real test" at Aldershot in the first round of the FA Cup.
The Ryman Premier League team set up a first round showdown against the Seagulls at The Recreation Ground on November 18 with a 1-0 home win against Dover last night.
Adams, who was at the match, said: "It's going to be a hard tie. Aldershot and their fans are very enthusiastic and passionate.
"I expect a big crowd, a great atmosphere and a real test for us.
"If we don't treat them with the respect they deserve there is going to be a shock.
"There is always one in the first round. Let's hope it isn't us."
A goal early in the second half by the prolific Gary Abbott clinched a dream tie for late Aldershot substitute and former Albion forward Stafford Browne.
Browne, who made three appearances for the Seagulls when Brian Horton was manager, said: "It's very exciting.
"It will be great to play Brighton, having supported and played for them, and it gives me a point to prove.
"It wasn't the best time for me. The club needed results and I didn't get much of a chance."
Meanwhile, Albion's kids won 2-0 in a replay at Wycombe last night to reach the second round of the FA Youth Cup.
Second half goals by Chris McPhee and Rupert Sansom sealed a home tie against Brentford in the next round.
Director of youth Martin Hinshelwood said: "The lads were different class.
"Wycombe could not have complained if it had been five or six goals."
The Reserves' home match against Norwich tonight has been postponed, due to a waterlogged pitch and slight structural damage at Woodside Road, Worthing.
