I do not wish to seem a killjoy, but I think I speak for many people who would like to see the sale of fireworks banned and for Bonfire Night celebrations to be strictly confined to public displays on one day only of each year.
I have heard fireworks being let off as late as 1am. If it is going to be like past years, we can expect to hear explosions long after Guy Fawkes Night. We can't keep our pets sedated for three weeks or more because of these anti-social people.
I also object to being constantly shouted at by kids with bundles of rags with a mask stuck on top, purporting to be a Guy, while begging for pennies outside shops and post offices every single day of their half-term holidays.
It really is time to call time on this annoying celebration.
