John Parry's right when he says the problems of anti-social behaviour are aggravated by acceptance of moronic and violent films. Producers of violent films are doing a disservice to us all and it is time the Government stamped out violence, rubbish and sleaze once and for all.

It is a sad reflection of our times that Mr Parry's excellent article may be read mainly by disinterested parties and certainly will have no impact on the miscreants who produce bad films.

Mr Parry says a report reveals 40 per cent of viewers concerned about screen violence are prepared to switch off or change channels. I would be happier if this figure was 90 per cent.
