Railtrack is reported as promising to return services to normal by Easter (December 13).
The company says this means the services will become as they were before the Hatfield crash. I won't hold my breath.
Nine hours from Brighton to Nottingham instead of five was bad enough. Now it has gone from bad to worse.
If this Government wants to be re-elected, it must sort out this mess more quickly and to a much higher standard. Instead, it lives on promises and hope.
This is absolutely ridiculous and not a measure of a modern, efficient country.
