East Brighton stages the biggest pro-am in Sussex on July 23 when 44 teams with their pros compete for a £7,500 jackpot.
The winning pro gets £1,000.
The club has a reputation for putting on a good show at their pro-am and next year's promises to be even better than the last two memorable occasions.
The reason is not hard to find. Phil Graves, chairman of the pro-am organising committee, has already obtained key backing from local businesses. The sponsors' contract was signed the other day at a lunch when the various parties got to know each other better.
Representing David Lloyd Leisure Ltd from Brighton Marian were Kerry White, the general manager, and Matt Turner, sales and marketing manager. From Coral Brighton and Hove Stadium were Stuart Walton, operations director, and retail manager Steve Gibbon.
Geoff Ferguson, managing director, was there on behalf of Jefferson Calor with John Pocock.
On the club table were Abe Hill, the chairman, Pat Scarfield, captain, Gary Brayshaw, course director and committee member Peter Blackey.
Come the big day and local charities will benefit.
