Enjoying a good run in all events apart from singles, Worthing's Steve Hawkes, Eric Pidgeon and Keith Cruise were quickly into gear.
They were at home to Paul Smithers, his father Roy and Eddie Barry of Worthing Pavilion in the national triples. They led by nine after the first five ends were 13-6 ahead at 10 and won 22-7 with 15 completed.
Out-drawing the home players, Arun's Barry Why, Brian Butler and Matt Bonnar led 10-2 after eight ends at Worthing against Peter Caswall, Tommy Tsoi and Mick Howard. Three ends later it was 14-4, with 14 played it was 16-8 and the Arun team won and now entertain the Cruise outfit.
Tony Clarkson of Falaise won 21-11 at home to Chris Pettit (King Alfred) and Adrian Finnie had a walk-over against Preston colleague Clayton Cosgrove in the area semi-finals of the National under-25s singles.
At the other end of the age scale, in the over 60s singles semi-finals Peter Reynolds scored 2,1,1,1 to win 21-20 at Egerton Park over Colin Murray after earlier trailing 20-16.
Dave Williams of Egerton Park won 21-14 at home to Vic Dennis.
In the London and Southern Counties BA single rink championship Worthing lost 17-14 away to Bannister Park, Southampton. They never recovered after trailing 7-1 with five ends played.
