The first bidder for the new radio slot in Worthing has emerged.
The Wireless Broadcasting Company (WBC), which went out live from Worthing Football Club in November last year, will apply for the licence announced by the Radio Authority two weeks ago.
WBC intends the station to be entertaining, educational and informative with a mixture of community news and features, along with music spanning four decades.
Stuart James of WBC said: "We believe that Worthing's radio station should be based in the town, employing and training people from within the community.
"From Littlehampton to Pulborough, it'll be local in every sense of the word."
