Where does the £70,000 raised by the Argus Appeal actually go? Here's one shining example.
Fourteen-year-old Adam Barnard from Benfield Heights in Portslade suffers from a severe emotional difficulty which makes him almost unable to communicate.
One thing which really relaxes him is the sensory room with soothing colours and lights at Hillside Special School near his home.
His parents wanted similar equipment but it costs thousands of pounds. The Appeal has made it possible for a bubble tube which changes colour, a mirror ball and ceiling lights to be installed in his room.
It soothes not only Adam but also his parents and sister. It's a real example of imaginative, practical help.
