Another Sussex council is set to switch to a Cabinet-style system of local government.
The system will be introduced as an experiment by Arun District Council - which covers Littlehampton, Bognor and Arundel - from April.
Ten of its 56 members will act as "ministers" for council services and other councillors will sit as members of new scrutiny committees, policing the work of the Cabinet.
A series of detailed recommendations about the change will go in front of councillors on Wednesday.
A report by a working party set up to look at Arun's management structure says the change has to be made to meet Government requirements.
The council has ruled out an alternative option of having a directly elected mayor.
A report says: "One member felt that a directly elected mayor would give the authority a higher profile, but it was felt it would not easily suit the council's structure."
A Cabinet system has already been in operation in neighbouring Chichester for the last 18 months.
West Sussex County Council is also now run by a Cabinet as part of a 12-month experiment, due to be reviewed after the May elections.
