I cannot believe anyone could assume Theresa Baker's offer to be a public relations exercise (Opinion, December 21).
I live very near the Blatchington Road branch and pass these premises many times each day. I am always greeted by a smile and wave from whoever may be at the reception desk if they are not otherwise engaged.
Fortunately, I haven't yet had to use this service. However, when I do require it I have made it clear they shall do the necessary. I would suggest Theresa Baker has a barbecue at the rear of her premises and invites the write of the offensive letter.
Would she come and take her chances?
This is a case of a very charitable offer being misconstrued by very few people. Are we not to give someone a meal now without some busybody taking offence?
