It is good news that the two towns of Brighton and Hove have achieved city status but it is also apparent that we need a cathedral to go with that status. All major cities have as the focal point of that community - a cathedral.
When I visit a city the first point of reference I look for is where is the cathedral. Some cities such as Norwich have two cathedrals.
If the National Lottery can finance the Dome, an opera house, a derelict pier, a national football stadium and many other projects, why not a modern cathedral for a new city?
This would set a new moral beginning for the lottery and would win the support of the majority of lottery players.
