I was very impressed by D.K. Chisnell's letter (December 30). We rarely get a letter about the terrible plight of the people around the south who have lost their entire homes through the dreadful floods and are having to endure hardships, especially little children and the elderly.
We read about the beggars and homeless almost every day and all the help they get and yet they don't belong here.
It is disgusting to think that whenever overseas people need help we haven't hesitated to supply it, yet we don't hear of any help from them.
