It's A family affair at Midhurst and Easebourne in the West Sussex League.

Long-serving secretary Ted Dummer, who received an MBE from the Queen last year for outstanding contributions to the community, has six grandsons playing for the club.

Jason Dummer and Daniel White are both playing for the reserve team, while Sean and Adam White and Oliver White play for the under-15s and James White for the under-11s.

One of his sons, Tim, is player-manager of the first team at the age of 45, while another, Simon, used to play for the club.

Ted said the earliest known family member to play for the club was his uncle Dick in the 1930s. Then Ted's cousin Gordon and brother Colin carried on the family tradition.

Ted himself played for a short while before a knee injury curtailed his career.

Gordon remains involved with the club as their sponsor.

Ted said: "The club is a close knit one and this is evidence of that. We're very proud of it."
