Leaders 147 B club upped the difference between themselves and 147 A to three points after beating The Hyde in the last matches of the first half of the Brighton League season.

Simon Dent hit a 59, Stuart Dunseith a 32 and Colin Slattery a 30. The other point came from Nick Czapiewski. The win for 147 A over Castle Club was achieved by Michael West, who hit a 66, Ben Evans and Tony Strange, who hit a 46.

These two are now ten points ahead of NARC and Castle Club A.

The situation at the top of Division Two sees six teams covered by just six points.

Alan Head, Paul Williams and Adie Bonwich saw Annunciation stay top after beating Brighton Sports C. The Sports winners were Greg Lewis and Neil Gozzett.

Southwick Sports A stayed joint second after Alan Ward, Nik Kennett, Brendan Ward and Dave Gridley helped them to victory over Hyde C.

Despite losing to Champion House B, Pot Black D remain six points clear in Division Three. Hove Deep Sea Anglers A and Champion House A remain joint second on 36 points.

Anthony Potter's great unbeaten run in Division Four was brought to an end by Mark Salter of NARC C, but Brighton Sports E won through Carlo Lupi, Spencer Presland and Danny Brooks to stay top by four points.

Bevendean Sports B came close to a Division Five upset when Bill Guy and Gerry McNern produced victories, but leaders Portslade Sports gained the win through Neil Francis, Daniel Sterling and Grant Brandson.

Lloyds closed the gap on Dyke Golf by beating 147 D through Daniel Lyons, Tony Walker and Gary Poulter. 147 winners were Lee Kokot, Hjalmar Potts.

Marquess of Exeter extended their Division Six lead by beating Brighton Sports G thanks to Micky Pert, Phil Bish, Kenny Wenham, who hit a 44, and Darren Welfare.

Hove Conservative C are third after a shock defeat against St Matthias D whose winners were Tony Turrell, Jack Ashworth and Gary Lord.

Lancing Empire A, the top team in the Worthing League Division A, beat third placed Tennis A 3-2 with wins from Dave Hughes, Martin Fitzpatrick and Adrian Jackson. The Tennis winners were Richard Sandell and Mick Jackson.

Second placed Royal Mail enjoyed a bye and Pete Morley, of Durrington Social A, knocked in the only break, a 46.

In Division B leaders New Central B beat third placed Shoreham A 3-2 with wins from Adrian Croft, Paul Mitchell and John Yeoman. Shoreham winners were Richard Alchott and Dave Hatchers.

Second placed Southwick A lost 3-2 to Durrington Working Men's Club, whose winners were Bob Sadler, Les Koroknai and Mick Britton. Eric Roberts and Terry Freestone were successful for Southwick.

Division C leaders Tennis B beat second placed Lancing Empire C 3-2 through Dave Eagle, Roger Wadeson and Mike Elliott. For Lancing, Steve Bond and Tony Samuel were successful.

Third placed Royal Mail C beat Storrington C 4-1 with the consolation coming from Kevin Geal. The Mail men delivering quickly were Mark Deamer, Joey Sandalls, Graham Tilley and Don Blunsdon.

Shoreham, leaders in Division D, thumped Lancing Legion A 5-0 via Alan Davison, Dennis Kenward, Stuart Raban, Colin Wilde and Richard Levick.

Second placed Shoreham B beat Durrington Social D 4-1 with Andy Stanford winning for Social while Dan Keegan, Andy Stainsby, Ron and John Liddle triumphed for Shoreham.

A shock defeat for Newhaven Constitutional A has virtually handed the Lewes League Division One title to Hailsham Memorial Institute.

Q-Ball A dealt out a 4-1 thumping to Newhaven with wins from James Taylor (31 break), Chris Thomsett, Charlie Dain and Matt Barnes (58 break), with the lone reply coming from Richard Barrett.

Hailsham MI took a 3-2 win at Uckfield A through Dean Phillips, Neal Hoad and Wayne Hill. The Uckfield wins were from Andy Potter and Nick Clarke, who hit a 34.

Lewes WMC beat Cliff Legion A with wins from Steve Hammond, Ian Fitzgerald, Ray Carey and Cecil Treagus.

Q-Ball B have gone to the top of Division Two after mauling Newhaven Constitutional B through Paul Watson, Danny Evans, Fred Bennett, Ashley Barton and Gordon Hearn.

Barcombe A lost ground in second place after being beaten by Peacehaven B whose winners were Bob Martin, Lee Barracliffe and Alex Andrews.

Uckfield C managed only their third win of the season when they beat Barcombe B thanks to Darren Hillman, Richard Jolliffe and a John Morton walkover.

The East Sussex team to meet Surrey, Kent and West Sussex in the South East Region Counties Championship at Woking is Michael West, Tony Strange (both Brighton), Mark Crotty, Neil Sivyer (both Eastbourne), Chris Quinnell and Paul Davis (both Hastings).
