Once again Mr Fraser (Opinion, January 2) is critical of animal rights campaigners, suggesting that they should be protesting against the annual turkey slaughter rather than the Boxing Day fox hunt.

Organisations and individuals campaign throughout the year against the systematic cruelty inherent in many animal-farming, rearing and slaughter methods. And there were protests about the turkey slaughter.

Instead of criticising others, perhaps Mr Fraser could tell us what he did to protest against the slaughter of millions of birds to celebrate "peace and goodwill?"
