Hastings Town manager George Wakeling is continuing his search for a new striker despite seeing his side win 2-0 at home to Wisbech Town.

Second-half goals from Duncan McArthur and Paul Jones gave Hastings their first victory in the eastern division at the Pilot Field since October.

Wakeling said: "We create so many chances but we haven't got that natural instinct of a goalscorer, someone who plays in the six-yard box. We have just got to get a front runner but it's not easy."

Hastings created a host of chances in the first half but each time they were frustrated by the superb reflexes of goalkeeper Duncan Roberts.

McArthur broke the deadlock six minutes into the second half with curling shot direct from a free kick. A fine solo goal from Jones late on wrapped up the points.

Garry Wilson praised his replacement players after Langney Sports beat Spalding United 2-0. Victory extended Langney's unbeaten run to ten games, despite having four regulars missing.

Jason Reed, who was in for injured top scorer Matt Allen, had a blinder scoring both goals after ten and 85 minutes. Simon Davey, in for Dean Lightwood, looked confident in goal Wilson said: "I would have been happy with a point before they came here, but we made them look ordinary. Jason and Simon had important roles to fill and they did that superbly."

St Leonards had a day to forget. Not only were they late for arriving at Sittingbourne because of an M25 hold-up, their recent unbeaten run came to an end with 3-0 reverse and they had five players booked.

And all this against a Sittingbourne team who had lost 17 out of their previous 18 games and had picked up only one point since the start of September.

Sittingbourne went in front on 64 minutes when Matt Russell just got to a long ball ahead of goal keeper Graham Bannatyne and scored twice in last ten minutes through Russell and Paul Campbell.
