A man was killed by a high-speed train today.
He was struck by the 12.05pm Gatwick Express travelling from the airport in West Sussex to London's Victoria Station.
It happened near Purley station in Surrey and other services on the main Brighton-London route were affected.
British Transport Police Inspector Philip Trendall said: "We believe the person is male. We have spoken to several witnesses who are traumatised by the incident."
