Worthing beat visitors Crawley 35-3 to retain hopes of clinching runners-up spot in London Three South East.

Scrum half Imrie, who returned to action after a rib injury, said: "The young boys played fantastically well. They are making the rest of us feel pretty old."

Brothers Ben and Charlie McGowan in the second row, outside half Ross Gilbert and centre Mark Adams earned praise.

Ben Coulson monopolised the first half scoring with a try, conversion and three penalties as Worthing led 16-3.

Tony Cruz, Paul Cox and Del Howard added second half scores with Coulson kicking two more conversions. Justin Kemp-Gee kicked Crawley's points.

Brighton would be in contention had they not had another two points deducted for fielding an ineligible player. The club will appeal against the deduction as the forms went to the wrong PO Box.

Danie Venter, Julian Hutchens, Paddy Delaney and Joe Brooking scored in a 24-0 win at Askeans. Geraint Jones added two conversions.

Uckfield beat Hellingly 26-11 in the Intermediate Shield on Sunday with Dave Cooke scoring two tries.

Shoreham's 8-6 win in a double-header at Wingspan gave them two points in Sussex Two West and a place in the Sussex Intermediate Shield quarter-finals. Kevin Hodges scored a try and Gary Howorth kicked a penalty.

Hastings won 13-11 at UC Chichester to clinch a semi-final place in the Intermediate Shield. Mark Patmore scored a solo try and kicked a decisive late penalty with Steve Pepper also crossing.

The students led twice through Dan Quinn's try and two Ben Dudley penalties.
