I was interested to read of the problems Mr Sita Misra has with the refuse collectors who, unfortunately for him, share his name (January 8).

My own experience of this firm is one of gross incompetence and a lack of care.

The service I and my neighbours receive is appalling, to put it mildly.

When the bins are emptied, which can be anything up to five weeks late, the rubbish is strewn around leaving the area looking like a tip.

Complaining to Sita directly is a waste of time as they simply do not care.

When I complained to the environmental health department, Mr Bish, who was obviously under a great deal of pressure from the public, made amazing progress and discovered that we kept being left off the lists.

After his intervention, things improved dramatically until December when Sita returned to form and left our rubbish for three weeks and when they finally emptied the bins they took one with them.

When I phoned to complain that the next collection had been missed and that the bin had been taken I was promised the bins would be emptied and replaced.

The remaining bins have been emptied but the missing one has not been returned and the rubbish was not all collected. They seem to have thrown it around for a little moronic fun.
