In reply to a letter regarding illegal parking (January 7). My son was parked with a small amount of his bumper over an entrance, which left sufficient room for cars to enter or leave the driveway.
However when I returned to the car I found it had been towed away at a total cost of £135 - £105 for towing away and £30 fixed penalty for obstruction.
In the same road, there were numerous rental vans parked taking residents' parking spaces as well as cars parked in a doctor's bay. When I contacted the police, I was told that they were not doing anything wrong.
If double yellow lines and rental trucks can park anywhere they like, how are residents supposed to keep to the parking rules?
