Danny Wray from Shoreham will hope to make light work of his opponent when he makes his professional debut at Hove Town Hall on Saturday.

The 20-year-old light-middleweight is one of seven fighters from the Ronnie Davies stable on the bill and he has his mind firmly fixed on a winning start to his professional career.

He said: "I am feeling really good and confident and my training has been going very well."

He added: "I just want to get this fight out of the way before I think about anything else. I do want to go as far as I can in boxing but it is a case of taking one fight as it comes."

With tickets selling fast and the night approaching a sell-out, Wray will have the benefit of home support.

He said: "I have a load of people coming down to cheer me on and it should be a great night."

Former world champion Chris Eubank's trainer Ronnie Davies is the driving force behind the show with his son Shaun. They are promoting four shows at the venue throughout the year with further Saturday nights in May, August and November lined up.

Wray, a former three-time Sussex schoolboy champion who won 21 of his 26 bouts as an amateur boxing out of Southwick ABC, trained with former flyweight world champion Charlie Magri when he turned pro but is now part of the Davies training camp.

Wray trains along with fellow light-middleweight Ty Browne, light-welterweight "Chill" John, cruiserweight Scott Baker, light-welterweight Scott Spencer, middleweight Liam Lathbury and welterweight Gary Harrison, who are all on the bill.

Tickets will still be available on the door tonight.
