Bird campaigner Richard Vahrman is launching an exhibition to try to save the swarming starlings of Brighton's West Pier.
Mr Vahrman says they face losing their home once the famous pier is restored.
The birds are a favourite with photographers as thousands of them swoop in formation around the decaying pier.
To celebrate the life of the starlings and make people aware of their plight, the Booth Museum of Natural History in Dyke Road, Brighton, will host the one-day exhibition on Saturday, February 17.
One of the attractions will be a 12-minute film showing the sunset dance at the West Pier.
The film is called The Murmuration, from the collective noun for starlings, and is set to the music of Claude Debussy.
Ralph Brown, who shot the film together with Andy Baybutt, said: "It was fantastic to be allowed on to the pier to film the birds as they were coming home to roost."
Other organisations taking part in the exhibition include the RSPB.
