MONDAY: Micky Adams takes the unusual step of revealing his team for Saturday's trip to Torquay.

In come Mark Cartwright, Darren Freeman and Nathan Jones. Out go the miskicking Michel Kuipers, Gary Hart and Paul Brooker.

Adams accuses the Seagulls of being "outbattled and outfought" in the surprise 1-0 defeat at lowly Exeter.

He says: "There is a long way to go before we are anywhere near promotion certainties. In fact on Saturday's performance we might do well to get into the play-offs."

TUESDAY: Adams watches the team to face Torquay lose 2-0 away to a strong Millwall reserve side in a Combination League fixture.

Paul Watson is forced off early on after a whack in the face and an unwell Charlie Oatway misses the second half as Richard Sadlier scores twice for the Lions from corners.

"It was better than training," Adams says. "We got a bit of pattern of play and the first half was more like it. I'm not bothered about the result."

Adams rues the postponement of a reserve team friendly at Hastings, arranged to launch Lee Steele's comeback from knee trouble.

WEDNESDAY: Adams explains the early announcement of the team to tackle Torquay.

"I want to take a bit of pressure off them. Perhaps they are putting themselves under pressure when they don't know the team for so long.

"Darren Freeman has been itching to start a game and he will get his chance on Saturday.

"Nathan Jones is familiar with his role and it's another chance for Mark Cartwright."

THURSDAY: Cartwright pledges to stay No.1 for keeps.

"I'm just glad to be back," he says. "But then again I've got to make sure I stay in.

"Sometimes it's even harder to keep the momentum going. That's my goal from now on.

"Michel is going to be unhappy, but he has just got to work hard and get back on top of his game again."

FRIDAY: Micky Adams says stories linking him with a move to QPR, as assistant to pal Dave Bassett, are 'speculation.'
