I am an elderly and disabled lady trying to keep up with life and do not like to think I am being taken advantage of.

My kitchen was flooded a little while ago and I had to send for a plumber.

My eldest son had turned off the water under my kitchen sink but apart from that he has no skills in plumbing.

The fault was the tap washer and it took half an hour to repair and turn my water back on.

I was billed £35, including VAT. Bearing in mind the washer costs about 10-20p, this is a rip-off! I may be weak in body but my mind is okay.

The firm did allow 14 days for payment as I am only of limited means. Surely there is someone out there who would charge a fair price.

If I knew them they would have a permanent place on my phone pad.
