Hastings boss George Wakeling has won the eastern division manager-of-the-month award.
Wakeling reckons it is because of his lucky charm, Australian midfielder David James. Hastings won four consecutive games in January and Wakeling said: "He's been playing in the games during the run. David seems to have brought us some luck and I think he has showed well for us."
The midfielder was signed on a non-contract basis after being recommended to Wakeling by his old friend John Still, director of football at Barnet.
HUGGINS SET TO SIGN FOR CRAWLEY Leroy Huggins could at last sign for Crawley and may even be available for tomorrow's home game with Moor Green.
Reds boss Billy Smith thought he got the Fisher marksman last month, but Huggins was persuaded to stay at the south London club.
Smith said: "I've had to remain patient with Leroy. The deal has been on and off. First he agreed to come at a time Fisher owed their players money. However they settled up and the deal was off.
"Then it was on because he wasn't getting in the side. They gave him a run in the team and it was off. Now it's back on again.
"Leroy is a tricky and fast customer. We do lack pace in the team and I believe he might just give us an extra bit of sharpness."
