ALBION'S Welsh wing wizard Nathan Jones is counting the cost of yellow peril.
An automatic ban for five bookings has sidelined him from today's promotion showdown at Withdean against his first club Cardiff.
Jones collected his fifth yellow card at Exeter last month, but the suspension was only confirmed on Tuesday.
"There was a mix-up with the number of bookings I had," he explained. "I wasn't too aware of it, but I had a feeling it might have been five.
"I spoke to my dad about it the other day and calculated it myself, so I knew just before the club.
"I tried to get one of the bookings, by David Elleray against Hartlepool, overturned. It was for dissent, but I didn't say a word to him.
"The one at Barnet on Boxing Day was for a good tackle, so I've been a little bit unlucky."
It's a case of lightning striking twice for former Cardiff trainee Jones.
He missed the opening game of the campaign at his previous club Southend because of a red card carried over while playing for them last season.
"Speaking selfishly I wanted the Cardiff game to be off," he added. "It's one you really don't want to miss.
"But I don't think I would have gone the whole season without getting a ban.
"The only good thing is getting it out of the way now ready for the big push towards the end."
Jones' misfortune continued when he turned his right ankle over in the gym on Thursday.
He will be available for next Saturday's trip to Cheltenham, as will Danny Cullip on the completion of his three match ban.
