Lewes Colts XV have had two players selected for England trials for the National Under-19 age group.
Captain and back row forward Dave Edmed and winger Mark Barnard have trials.
A combined 1st and 2nd XV Lewes side beat Horsham 32-5 in a friendly last Saturday. Tries by full-back Liam Craig-Davies (2), Carl Payne, Ian Hardcastle, Ian Priest and Duncan Barton, and a single conversion from Martin Lovell, meant it was an easy derby win.
Lewes Under-16s lost 55-0 to a Crowborough side last Sunday while the Under-14s sunk Tonbridge/Juddians 24-17 with tries from new signing Ashley Walker (2), Lewie Edmonds and Alex Anastasiades. Sean Sayers scored two conversions.
Sussex Police take on the Metropolitan Police under lights at Brighton's Waterhall on Wednesday in the quarter-finals of the Inter-Force Knock-out Cup from 3.30pm.
