Leroy Huggins made a dream debut as he hit the winner in Crawley's 1-0 Premier Division home victory over Moor Green.

Huggins, signed from Fisher Athletic on Thursday, netted after nine minutes when he collected a Dave Powell pass to fire past goalkeeper Ross Bate.

He said: "It was a good run out for me. I hope I can do the best I can for the club. It was a fantastic start."

Reds manager Billy Smith added: "Leroy did very well and scored a good goal. We have got him for his pace and he is a very good signing. We needed a win and this has given us a boost."

A game of few chances saw Reds put in a workmen like performance and Huggins and Mark Hynes showed great endeavour up front.

Langney Sports manager Garry Wilson was disappointed with his side's display in the 1-1 eastern division home draw against Rothwell Town. He said: "We had plenty of chances to win, but lack of match practise and fitness showed."

Langney took the lead on 65 minutes when Simon Colbran fired home from 15 yards.

The home side held firm, with Darren Baker in fine form, until Andy Bullimore equalised with four minutes to go.

George Wakeling wants his team to become more dominant at home after Hastings Town were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by visiting Corby Town.

Hastings looked to be heading for their fifth league win in a row until they were stung by an 81st-minute equaliser.

Wakeling, Dr Martens eastern division manager-of-the-month for January, said: "I'm not disappointed with the players but I just feel at home we have got to support each other more and make runs in numbers. We have got to open teams up more.

"When we go away it's a different ball game because teams come at us and we do a lot better, but when we are at home it's up to us to dictate how we play the game."

Hastings dominated for long spells but found themselves up against a dogged Corby side. They finally broke the deadlock after 59 minutes when Paul Jones scored from close range, only for the visitors to level with a sweetly-struck 25-yard drive from Grant Mawby.

St Leonards recovered from two down to draw 2-2 at Burnham, Shaun Loft and Desmond Boateng scoring
