Worthing had to make several team changes because of illness and injury, but they still proved too strong for Lewes.
The visitors went home empty-handed from Roundstone Lane after suffering a 24-0 defeat in London Three South East.
Terry Butler, Ben Coulson, Aaron de Boer and Dan Anstey scored their tries with Coulson adding two conversions and the only disappointment for the hosts came near the end when Matt Knowlton was sin-binned for a late tackle.
Disappointed Worthing coach Tim Mackew said: "We didn't compete as well as we could in the forwards.
"They were a far more experienced pack and we struggled to deal with it. They seemed to be able to get lower and under us and drive that much more.
"Steve Haddleton came on in the last ten minutes and took two against the head which will have done a lot for his confidence and switching Terry to centre made a considerable difference."
East Grinstead produced their best performance of the season, beating Brighton 29-7 at Saint Hill to ease their relegation worries.
Chichester gave themselves a glimmer of hope in their battle to avoid relegation from London Four South East after chalking up their first victory of the season.
They beat a below-par Eastbourne 12-5 thanks to tries from James Ward and Toby Young while Richard Johnson added a conversion.
The visitors were poor and coach Graham Shiret admitted: "It was probably our worst performance for three years, we only played properly for about five minutes."
Heathfield face an anxious rest of the season after a 14-12 defeat at next to bottom Park House left them just above the relegation zone.
The visitors produced an improved performance, particularly among their backs, and dominated the line-out. But they gifted Park House two breakaway tries which were converted under the posts.
Heathfield's tries came from Terry Streeter and Julian Wates whose second half effort was converted by Jamie Marchant.
The games involving Bognor and Hove were postponed.
