Tony Borty, partner at Hove-based Netpoint, has a vision of helping Sussex schools make their mark on the internet
"Creating a public profile and awareness of the work being done are two good reasons for schools to make their presence felt on the world wide web.
"A web site can also be used as a reference for parents, businesses and others to acquaint themselves with the many different aspects of everyday school life - events, public notices and information can be very speedily made available."
Bishop Luffa School, in Chichester, made extensive use of its web site during the recent floods. Staff and students were updated on a daily basis about the use of school transport and the effect the floods were having on the school.
One out-of-hours notice received 400 visitors in two hours, avoiding a massive blockade of the school phones.
