I think it is about time the police cracked down on cyclists, especially all those who ignore traffic lights.
I regularly see many cyclists in the town centre of Brighton going straight through red lights.
What they do not seem to realise is that when the lights are red for the traffic they are often green for pedestrians.
I have seen numerous near-misses between pedestrians and cyclists because of this and feel the fixed penalty approach is now the only answer.
Why do cyclists seem to think the rules of the road do not apply to them?
