Further to my letter of January 11, I would like to reply to my critics who do not agree with me regarding the lack of hygiene at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
The person who was in for one week - were you double incontinent, suffering Alzheimer's disease, paralysed in the arm and leg and unable to speak or feed yourself? I think not.
Most likely you were able to get out of bed and help yourself.
My husband was in hospital for four months, depending on nurses for all his needs.
They even did not have enough pillows to prop him up and instead used old curtains rolled up.
As I originally stated, Brighton General had all these requirements and my husband had marvellous treatment on ward E2 until he died.
