Langney Sports have come a long way since Tony Hylands was playing for them in the East Sussex League.
Now 20 years after those days playing parks football Tony finds himself appointed the club's commercial manager.
He is the first-ever full-time member of staff at the Eastern Division club, but Hylands insists he will bring in enough money to justify his position.
Hylands, who leaves his job in the commercial department at the Albion this Thursday, said: "A club like Langney Sports, which is ambitious, needs to have good commercial awareness and I'm determined to help them run their club on a more professional footing.
"It's like going home. I live in Eastbourne and have admired how the club have climbed the ladder. They want to establish themselves in the Dr Martens League and that is something we'll be striving to achieve."
Sports chairman Len Smith said: "We needed someone to give their undivided attention to commercial matters. Tony is experienced after working for the Albion and with him being a local man it works quite well for both parties."
Hylands will take up the new post in a fortnight.
Meanwhile on the player front, John Westcott has signed for Langney Sports until the end of the season.
The former Albion player has had his contract cancelled by Sutton, but the winger will be keeping his options open before committing himself to the club next year.
He said: "I've enjoyed myself here at Langney and we've had a good run. It's only a two minute drive from my home to Priory Lane, but if the phone was to ring in the summer and it was a club at a higher level then of course I'd have to think about it."
