A new business park in Sussex could create dozens of jobs.
Peacehaven is hoping to shed its commuter-town image with the construction of the new centre which is aimed at entrepreneurs launching their own businesses.
The company in charge of plans to build the 25 units has promised the scheme will mean a massive jobs boost for the town.
Lewes District Council has backed plans by Bob Poplett, of Brickfast Ltd, to build low-cost starter units on land at the Meridian Industrial Estate.
Mr Poplett said many people could not afford to rent the larger, more expensive units in the town and were forced to commute.
He said: "At the moment, the area is a wasteland. This will help provide local employment. The trouble with Peacehaven is it's a dormitory town and there is nothing to help the small companies. We want to try and stop some of the exodus out of the town.
"We don't think there will be any trouble with demand."
If Brickfast gets planning permission, it is hoped the scheme will be up and running within the next year.
Mr Poplett then hopes to build 30 to 40 more business units in the town.
