Horsham YMCA were celebrating after a late goal from Phil Churchill booked their place in the final of the Sussex RUR Cup at Crabtree Park last night.
Churchill, who confirmed before the game that he would be staying at YM despite interest from Wick, pounced from close range seconds into injury time after Ellis Hooper's shot from the edge of the box wasn't held by the Sidlesham goalkeeper.
It is the first time since 1995 that boss John Suter has guided YM into a cup final, but he had some sympathy for opposite number Ian Hillman.
"I feel sorry for Ian, it must be devestating to lose a semi-final so late in the game," said Suter.
"They are a good side and if I'm honest I'd say that they probably had more possession than us, but we probably created the better chances."
Churchill's strike partner Nick Flint went close on several occasions in the second half when YM started to get on top.
YM's progress to next month's final, where they will meet either Burgess Hill or Redhill, completed a good day for Suter who was delighted with Churchill's decision to stay.
"Phil's not going anywhere," he added. "He's pledged himself to the club for the rest of the season which is good news."
Horsham and Lewes must replay after a bad tempered 1-1 draw in their Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final at Queen Street last night.
Lewes started brightly and after five minutes Richard Hudson's incisive pass sent Warren Bagnall clear, but goalkeeper Ian Chatfield raced out to force him to fire wide.
Horsham took control either side of half-time with Joe Clark, Graham Mackay and Steve Payne all going close, but it was Lewes who broke the deadlock on 78 minutes when Bagnall's glancing header beat Chatfield at the near post.
But Horsham rallied and levelled in the 89th minute when Gary Charman sent a looping header over Florian Ludewig from Clark's cross.
Four Horsham players were booked in extra time and Lewes's Paul Stokes was sent off for retaliation, but the home side couldn't make the most of their numerical advantage.
First half goals from Mark Burt and Ben Carrington gave Worthing their first win in 14 games as Aylesbury were defeated 2-1 at Buckingham Road in Ryman League Division One.
Burt scored after nine minutes with a well taken header after Carrington had fed Peter Brackley on the right. Carrington doubled the advantage on 31 minutes by firing past keeper James Courtnage.
Aylesbury's Roni Joe set up a tense finish by pulling one back on 62 minutes, beating Matthew May's outstretched hand with a cross-shot from the right.
Worthing's Burt, Carrington, Neil Winter, Gary Green and Paul Kennett were all booked.
