A motorist has been killed in a road smash on the A26 in East Sussex today.
The road was closed in both directions at 6.30am following a collision between a lorry and a Toyota pick-up near Beddingham.
The driver of the Toyota died of his injuries at the scene.
The A26 was closed in both directions between the Beddingham roundabout and Newhaven until 10am.
A separate accident on the A27 at Kingston near Lewes added to the chaos, delaying drivers heading west towards Lewes.
