Snap! We write to say those of us listed from our football club have the same tastes as Miss M C Sterling (Opinion, February 20) and enjoy reading letters from writers she spoke of.
For instance, we enjoy the Reverend John Webster for his knack of being able to put the cat among the pigeons (always enormous reaction to his letters) and Dave Bonwick for his knack of putting his point across in a subtle and amusing way - as does Mick Vennor.
Sadly, these writers are rarely seen now - more's the pity, as the Opinion column needs spicing up.
We cannot remember the last time we read a letter to make us smile.
Too many letters published in The Argus nowadays are a big yawn, containing too much political undertone, best saved for columns of national daily newspapers (W Morgan springs to mind), and there are too many letters from councillors.
