I don't need Frank Prince-Iles (Opinion, March 30) to educate me about the horrendous suffering inflicted on animals both in this country and abroad.

I find it difficult to understand why my concern over close-ups of animal corpses should be open to criticism. The Voice of the Argus (March 23) stated: "No one, from a fervent farming supporter to the most militant vegetarian, can view these grotesque scenes in the Sussex countryside with anything but pity and horror."

Will Mr Prince-Iles next be campaigning for the return of capital punishment, with public executions taking place in Churchill Square?
