So, Brighton has been voted the best shopping area in the South.
I am really surprised at this and feel whoever decided this has not tried to shop on a busy Saturday in a crowded Churchill Square
which is becoming a "fashion shop" mall with the odd useful store, such as the small food section in BHS. This is quite apart from the layout of the shops, sprawled over a large area, which makes it very tiring if one is doing a variety of shopping.
Recently my family and I went to Worthing and were very pleasantly surprised at the diversity of shops and compactness of the shopping area, which made it so much easier to get things. We have been back several times and will continue to do so.
Another bonus was the street entertainment, the presence of police walking around and the cost of parking - three hours for less than £1.50.
Brighton may have a great history and coffee shops coming out of its ears but it can't hold a candle to Worthing.
