Ryan Moore, 17-year-old son of Brighton trainer Gary Moore, is to ride abroad this month.
He is one of three English amateur jockeys taking part in the 25th anniversary renewal of the Richmond Brissac Trophy at Angers in Western France on April 30.
James Ewart, based in France, and Philip Prichard are the other two.
It may be one of the last amateur outings for Ryan, who rode six winners in his first season last year. He is considering becoming a licensed apprentice jockey.
The Richmond Brissac Trophy was initiated in 1976 through the friendship of the Duke of Richmond and Gordon the Counte de Brissac, members of two aristocratic families with similar histories. The English leg has always been run at Goodwood.
