St. Leonards joint-boss Andy Thomson has sung the praises of his rejuvenated side after they avenged a humiliating 10-2 defeat with a 4-1 win over Rothwell Town on Thursday.
Thomson said: "When we lost 10-2 earlier in the season I admit I thought 'that's it, we are going down.
"But we really have turned it round now and we were fantastic against Rothwell. Their manager said he couldn't believe the change."
Dominic Barclay got a hat-trick in the victory but Thomson was quick to praise his strike partner.
"Simon Fox has been outstanding although he has been not getting all the goals. Both players are ex-pros, their movement is good and they work well together. But Des Boateng and Danny Fletcher have also been superb."
Saints have appointed a joint-manager to work with Thomson.
Micky Taylor, 52, who has recently been working at Ryman Premier Division Croydon as director of football, has been brought in to add his experience alongside the 36-year-old current boss.
