Albion hotshot Bobby Zamora has won the Nationwide player of the month award for March.
The Seagulls marksman beat Rotherham's Mark Robins and Barnsley's Bruce Dyer to the accolade from the Football League sponsors.
Zamora polled 38 per cent of the votes from Sky TV viewers after five goals in six games during the month.
Nationwide spokesman Chris Hull revealed: "I think that is the highest percentage for any player this season.
"He blasted the opposition. The figures for Robins and Dyer were 14 per cent and ten per cent respectively."
Zamora was on target last month in the 2-0 win at Leyton Orient, the 2-2 draw at Hartlepool and the 2-0 home victory against Mansfield.
He also netted twice when Barnet were beaten 4-1 at Withdean.
His 28 goals have spearheaded Albion's promotion campaign and he is sure to be the fans' choice for player of the season.
Zamora will receive a magnum of champagne from Nationwide plus £500 for the charity of his choice at a ceremony in Hove next week.
Sunderland today became the latest Premiership club to be linked with Zamora.
