In tackling graffiti, what would really help is a cash-limited scheme, run by Brighton and Hove City Council, in which private property is also brought into the equation. This would help shops, homes and other premises fight the scourge as well as dealing with it on council and other public buildings and property, as happens now.
All graffiti, not just that deemed sexist, racist or obscene, should be tackled. It is just as damaging to see "Tok" everywhere as it is to see four-letter words.
-Coun Brian Oxley, deputy Conservative group leader, Brighton and Hove Council, Westbourne ward, Hove
