Sussex women wound up their inter-county fixtures with a 140-112 win over Berkshire at Preston.
Top of the four winning rinks were Jean Noble (Egerton Park), Audrey Grisbrook (King Alfred), Doris Wickenden and Denise Hodd (both Egerton Park) who won 29-9 over Jill Broad.
Another convincing win was by Hazel Dobbs (King Alfred), president Joan Timms, Betty Potten and Lena Inch (all Worthing) who won 28-14 over Joyce Lyons-Hill. President Joan was in good form and several trails of the jack by Betty contributed additional shots.
Marion Chown (Wealden), Lillian Herriott (Eastbourne), Sheila Niner, (Preston) and Janet Birch (Wealden) won 30-19 against Pat Pond.
Jill Yeo, Mollie Packham (both Preston), Ruth Rose (Grattons) and Irene Scoble of Wealden finished 17-14 winners over Sue Dadson.
Pat Anders (Preston), Sheila Sutton (Eastbourne), Vera Lammie (Preston) and Pauline Stratford, of Langney Sports, lost 24-20 to Beryl Cottis.
Because Berkshire were one short, the Preston captain Doreen Tilling played for them and was in a rink which won 32-16 over Dorothy Elphick (Eastbourne), Beryl Pullen (Egerton Park), Trixie Moore (Eastbourne) and Betty Durrant, of Preston.
When he led the Sussex CIBA team at Worthing, president Tom Riley, of Eastbourne, completed a full house of 18 clubs visited during the season.
Sussex won 110-72 with the Egerton Park team of Nigel Hooper, Basil Pierce, Ken Taber and Norman Hooper winning 28-12 over Pat Sweeney, George Youngs, John Williams and Ray Potten.
Sun-tanned Nigel Hooper, just back from his honeymoon in Barbados, gave his rink a superb start in most ends and, given his chances by both club and county, is a player of the age and ability Sussex need to foster.
This performance just eclipsed the 27-12 win of Tom Riley, David Pickering, Colin Simpson and Rene Bachman over Brian Pryce, Alan Keen, Len Adams and Len Lewis.
Barrie Why, Jim Parkes, Roger Parsons and Ted McCrossen of Arun defeated Brian Wise, Ron Earl, Ken Cheesman and Jack Creighton 20-13 while Adur's John Cook, Tony Owen, Den Frampton and George Rudge won eight consecutive ends in an 18-16 win over Peter Down, Gerry Rymer, Barry Miles and Fred Newman.
The only rink down were Roy Dare, John Wallis, Alan Glenister and Ian Creasey of Langney Sports who lost 19-17 to Tony Phillips, John Rise, George Jennings and Derek Johnson.
