A squall kept all sailors on their toes as Lancing Sailing Club raced last Sunday and Monday completing four more races in their Easter Series.
In the Fast Fleet, Roger Dowty sailing his Laser, put together an excellent series of races finishing in the top three of all four races. Alex Kourkourakis sailed his RS600 into the first place spot in both Monday morning and afternoon races.
Fast Fleet results: Sunday am: 1 Roger Dowty (Laser), 2 Gavin Hardiman (Laser), 3 J. Carter (Laser). Sunday pm: 1 C.Stevens &G.Robson (Buzz), 2 Roger Dowty (Laser), 3 Gavin Hardman (Laser).
Monday am: 1 Alex Kourkourakis (RS600), 2 Andrew Carter (Laser), 3 Roger Dowty (Laser).
Monday pm: 1 Alex Kourkourakis (RS600), 2 Ian Beale (Laser), 3 Roger Dowty (Laser).
In the Slow Fleet Mike Croker (Laser Radial) and Alan Simmons (Streaker) had a fine battle in all four races. Simmons had to be content with following Croker on all four occasions.
Slow Fleet results: Sunday am: 1 Mike Croker (Laser Radial), 2 Alan Simmons (Streaker), 3 Mikaela Miek (Topper).
Sunday pm: 1 Mike Croker (Laser Radial), 2 Alan Simmons (Streaker), 3 Diana Croker (Laser Radial).
Monday am & pm: 1 Mark Lloyd (Laser Radial), 2 Mike Croker (Laser Radial), 3 Alan Simmons (Streaker).
With just tomorrow's two races to go in this Easter Series, the winner in either fleet could be any one of a number of sailors. The competition has not been so close for some time and a big turnout is expected.
